Yet the Mackenzie dogs are as restless and as full of fight as their distant kinsdogs of the Atlantic seaboard, and the tufts of hair all along the lowest barbed wire of the fences about the Hudson's Bay Company headquarters betray their eagerness to be in every fight that is started.

The "Porcupine River" or "Mackenzie" Husky . . . originated a great many years ago from a cross of the Eskimo with some large domesticated dog, and were the best freight dogs I have ever seen, being far superior to the Eskimo and much larger and stronger.
